The Higher Education Students’ Financing Board (HESFB) announces an extension of the Students' Loan Application Deadline that was meant to close on Friday August 04, 2017 has been exteded to Friday August 18, 2017 for Undergraduate Applicants and Thursday August 31, 2017 for Diploma Applicants.
The Higher Education Students Financing Board (HESFB) was established by an Act of Parliament to manage the Students’ Loan Scheme.
The Board has received funds from the Government of Uganda to be used for financing Ugandan Students who are pursuing studies in Higher Education Institutions in Uganda.
The Board now invites Students' Loan Applications for the Academic year 2017/18 commencing Thursday June 15, 2017, the closing date for receiving applications is Friday, 4th August 2017 at 1700 hours’ local time.
During the FY year 2015/16, the Board has made positive strides in an effort to achieve its mandate of providing loans and Schlarships to needy students in Uganda. As a Board we are still a subvention under the Ministry of Education and Sports and as such our activities are reported under the line ministry. The Higher Education Students’ Financing Board (HESFB) announces the release of the Final List All Loan Beneficiaries for the Academic year 2016/17. The Board awarded loans to Students admitted for the Undergraduates and Diplomas in various institutions of Higher learning in Uganda.
All the successful applicants are required to report for studies immediately upon notification at the respective Higher Learning Institutions;

The Higher Education Students’ Financing Board (HESFB) announces the release of the Approved List of Loan Beneficiaries for the Academic year 2015/16. The Board awarded loans to Students admitted for the Undergraduates and Diplomas in various institutions of Higher learning in Uganda.
The lists for the undergraduates and diploma Students have been released to Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions participating in this year’s exercise.
Announcement: Effective May 26, 2016, The Hon. Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Sports ratified Board decisions for a New Tariff as shown in the Announcement attached. Download for details.
A total of Two thousand one hundred twenty five (2125) applications were received of which, 457 (21.5%) were female while 1668 (78.5%) are male.
A total of 5 were persons with disabilities. Applications were received from 107 Districts of the Country; 5 Districts were not represented as no student from there submitted an application. These are: - Amudat, Bulisa, Buvuma, Ntoroko and Nakapiripirit Districts. Out of the 1,703 applications, 1,325 (77.8%) were approved for getting loans, of which 298 (22.5%) were female while 1,027 (77.5%) were male.
